PAC-MAN 256 Review | Xbox One UK

In a meeting room at Namcos main headquarters sits a whiteboard, and on that whiteboard is a spider diagram with the phrase Making Pacman Great Again residing in the middle. Sprouting from there are a wild collection of ideas including an animated series, a 3-D platformer tied into the animated series, a Telltale game and an appearance in Smash Bros. Executives are shouting, throwing paperwork at each other, one intern is pitching his gritty Pacman reboot, and all the while, one developer is playing Crossy Road on his phone. Guess where, in that narrative, did the inspiration for PAC-MAN 256 came from?

Not even power-ups or the all-seeing eye of a 35 year old glitch can stop PAC-MAN 256 from just being the same old stuff weve already seen before, and done better in previous titles like the excellent Pacman: Championship Edition. Saved only by the fact its cheap, PAC-MAN 256 is not a game that will linger long in the memory.

Breached Review | Bit Cultures

A review of drone-based scavenger explorer Breached for PC.

Connor O’Malley from Bit Cultures writes: “Breached is plagued by a litany of errors and missteps, some of which strike at heart of its gameplay in a manner that may render it inadmissably flawed for some. Its testament, then, to the stunning world design, the mystique of the story-telling and the strength of the conceit that I found Breached, in its better moments at least, not only enjoyable but gripping. This is a tricky recommendation, a recommendation that comes swamped with caveats, but a recommendation nonetheless for a uniquely intriguing, bewildering game.”

Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens First Impressions | Analog Addiction

10 hours into my first play-through, while there are a handful of game play issues to address, the prologue alone is enough to rekindle the fun spirit of both the Lego and Star Wars properties.

Inside (XOne) Review | VGChartz

VGChartz’s Evan Norris: “Despite some straightforward puzzles and undemanding platforming, Inside shines thanks to Playdead’s masterful storytelling and focus on immersion. The game is scary, and heartpounding, and dripping in atmosphere. When it’s not sending you into cardiac arrest, it’s bending your mind with plot twists and challenging your reflexes and brain power with a series of platforming and puzzling challenges. In the end, lightning strikes twice for Playdead. Six years was worth the wait.”
