Dynasty Warriors 8 – Empires | Digital Chumps Review

DC:
Another year and another Dynasty Warriors appears.

Theres nothing like deep gameplay to keep a lot of flaws out of the eyes of gamers. I have always believed that if you make a good game, then gamers will forgive you for lackluster moments. Thats pretty much how I can sum up the experience with Dynasty Warriors 8 – Empires. Its a game that visually seems like it is stuck in 2011, but screams on the inside that its ready for the Playstation 4/Xbox One era.

Screamride review | Post Arcade

PA:
Were it not my job to review games I almost certainly would have skipped past Screamride without a second thought.

Based on the box shot a picture of some bland looking digital folk screaming while riding a roller coaster and Frontier Developments history developing Roller Coaster Tycoon and other theme park management games, I would have assumed it held little of interest to me.

Pillar Review | Game Informer

GI:
Pillar certainly has indie bonafides. Developed by a lone auteur (Michael Hicks), filled with vague and nonlinear storytelling, and based on the Myers Briggs personality assessment test, it’s clearly in the lineage of critical darlings like Braid. However, nailing the aesthetics of an arthouse indie game and making a well-crafted one aren’t the same thing.
